A recent report stating unsafe levels of antimony were found in Zhu Zhu Pets has been seen as something of a misunderstanding.

Independent consumer website GoodGuide had published over the weekend test results stating that the chemical antimony, a substance used in the making of metal alloys which can cause heart and lung problems, had been found in unsafe levels on/in the Zhu Zhu pet Mr. Squiggles. Hours after the report had been published however, federal safety regulators at the Consumer Product Safety Commission deemed the Zhu Zhu Pets to be safe and free of any dangerous toxins.

So how did this happen? According to the GoodGuide, initial tests carried out by their labs were of a different methodology than those used by the federal government to verify the safety of consumer products.
